Government help for merchants of the Grenville Vendors’ Market fire |

The Grenada Government is to expected provide cash grants, soft loans and other tax concessions amounting to about $540,000 to business people who lost merchandise in the fire that destroyed the Grenville Vendors’ Market on June 27.
The package of assistance, which has been discussed by Cabinet, followed the report of a specially appointed Taskforce that included Youth Empowerment and Sports Minister, Patrick Simmons; Social Development Minister Sylvester Quarless; and Senator Glen Noel, Minister of State in the Ministry of Housing, Lands and Community Development.
